Welcome to a 7 part series of my ultimate baby registry advice and recommendations, because I get way too excited about sharing this kind of helpful content with my friends. I’m a “new” mom – my son is 2 years old as I write this – but that is still new to me. This whole experience is nothing like I expected and continues to blow my mind every day. One of the biggest factors to finding any kind of success as a new mom is with support from your friends, family, or just the community of moms around you. It is vast, varied, and beautiful.
First and foremost, one of my favorite ways to support my friends who are entering the motherhood journey is to give them the recommendations I got and have tried out for myself. I am constantly reaching out to other mom friends about their advice and recommendations. I have since before my son was born even! So, I made a Google doc that ended up being 20+ pages of advice and recommendations, organized by categories of registry items and broken down by my thoughts during certain months in that newborn phase. Wild, I know. Not really though, since I’m a sucker for information and suggestions and writing it all out. That’s me!
This series may feel like endless suggestions and advice, but please remember that the adage “every baby is different” is so true and it extends to “every parent is different” as well. It’s not one-size-fits-all, but gosh is it nice to hear and know the experience of others to help build your own. Above all, this is not a baby bible, it’s just my experience and opinions about how I’ve handled this journey so far.
Here’s what you’ll find in this series:
1 . Baby’s Room & Sleep Essentials
2. Transportation & Gear: Getting Around with Baby
3. Feeding Essentials: Bottles, Breastfeeding, and More
4. Diapering, Bathing & Baby Care Essentials
5. Play & Parent Self-Care: Finding Balance
6. Wrapping Up: New Mom Lessons Learned
Undoubtedly, every family is different and your needs will be different than mine! Also, these sections are really covering the basics. They don’t extend into gear and essentials related to other experiences your family may partake in (e.g., hiking, swimming, golfing, traveling, etc.) I’ll do those another time.
