Affirmations have made a big impact on my mental health, but I won’t pretend I’m perfect at using them all the time.

Motherhood has a way of changing you in ways you don’t fully expect. It opens up a whole new part of who you are, and at the same time it can leave you wondering where parts of you went.

There are moments where I feel caught between who I used to be, who I am now, and who I’m still becoming. And in those moments, my thoughts can start to drift in the opposite direction of what I actually need.

When that happens, I have to intentionally pause. I’ll grab my phone or a notebook where I’ve written affirmations and start reading them… sometimes a little urgently at first 😅

Then I slow down, take a breath, and repeat them again with more kindness. That’s when I start to feel grounded again.

I’m still learning how to navigate this, but having a few go-to affirmations has helped me stay connected to myself while growing into motherhood.

Here are a few I come back to often 🤍

How to Use Affirmations Daily

You can use affirmations in whatever way fits your day best. There’s no “right” way to do this at all!

For me, I keep them in a few easy places so they’re always within reach:

  • a note in my phone
  • a notebook
  • sticky notes on my bathroom mirror

If you can, say them out loud. There’s something powerful about hearing the words, even if it feels a little awkward at first.

And on days when that feels like too much, even quietly repeating them in your head can help shift your mindset.

Start simple. One or two affirmations can be enough to reset your day.
